I want to go to Ireland in the summer but I heard hotel prices go up since its the peak time of year for tourism. How much more expensive is it then going in late April or May? What about food prices?

It depends on how you purchase that food. If you buy at a local supermarket and prepare it yourself in a self-catering apartment, it will be a bit cheaper than buying in a restaurant.

Hotel accommodation can be double in the summer months. You could also look at family-run bed and breakfast accommodation in family homes, these are very common over here and a lot nicer than the big hotels. www.familyhomes.ie.
