The view from the living room, and our screened in room, was of the Legend’s Golf course. Arnold Palmer designed this course, and the going rate for 18 holes was $105. There were 3 other resorts golf on site. They also ran golf clinics and private instruction by some of the best teachers.

The 4 star Bloomfield House offers first class accommodation a mile from the very centre of the city. Set in a Georgian house richly decorated rooms featuring fine art and antiques. A small hotel with only seven rooms. Pets are allowed on request. No golf hotels extra charges.

After a candle-lit Jacuzzi soak on our deck, we have a great sleep. Sleeping next to the ocean always seems so relaxing. In the morning we are back to the Boat Basin for a continental breakfast, which turns out to be more than ample. There is a choice of cereals, muffins, cinnamon buns, amazing croissants, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee and tea. While waiting for breakfast I notice a rather large sea lion gently checking out the Marina next to the Boat Basin.

Although you’ll be playing golf, you might want the golf hotels to have things for non golfers to do. Perhaps a luxury spa, gym or walk round the grounds would keep them entertained.

The Kachine Ballroom Mother’s Day champagne brunch features musical entertainment by Chuck E Baby and a special Children’s Buffet with kid-friendly foods. The brunch is 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 9. The cost is $39.95 for adults and $24.95 for children.
