Tenerife is one of the most popular of the Canary Islands and has a wonderful climate for golf. You can see touches of the great designers, Pepe Gancedo, Donald Steel, and Seve Ballesteros in all of the nine courses found on the island. Each Tenerife course offers unique topography and challenge.

The lunch menu at the Seaside Grill had some traditional American dishes (burgers and fries) along with chips and salsa, fajita’s and salads. One day I got the fish burger and am sad to say I didn’t like it. It was entirely too salty. But the fresh chips and salsa were a really good compensation for that lost.

You need to know who is going with you. If you are going alone, then searching for the right golf hotels will be fairly easy. If you have other people joining you, especially children, you will want to choose your golf destination wisely. For those without children, you might want to find a child free resort that will keep you busy, but no take away from the adult atmosphere you are accustomed too. For families, there are so many family golf hotelss to pick from.

The view from the living room, and our screened in room, was of the Legend’s Golf course. Arnold Palmer designed this course, and the going rate for 18 holes was $105. There were 3 other resorts golf on site. They also ran golf clinics and private instruction by some of the best teachers.

Maui, an island in Hawaii is home to United States’ finest golf hotels courses. Usually the climate there is very good but sometimes the wind blows a little hard. If you are tired from playing golf then you can relax or take a swim in the beaches in Maui. After all, Hawaii is well known for its beaches. Maui Seaside Hotel, Sunseeker Resort, etc, are places to stay at when in Maui.

Do you like to camp? If so, maybe you would like to come to Miami and spend some time camping. They have some nice places to go camping. One of these is Goldcoaster, they have 547 sites. Miami Everglades Campground is another, and they have 258 sites. Gator Park has 34 sites. Embassy RV Park has 67 lots. There are other camp sites as well for the campers. They are a nice place to relax and visit, or even have a cookout.

If you decide that you love Sanibel and Captiva so much that you want to stay for a night or two, there are plenty of places to stay. Some resorts are: Sundial Beach and Golf Resort, Casa Ybel Resort, The Inns of Sanibel, South Seas Island Resort (Captiva), West Wind Inn, Tween Waters Inn (Captiva). The West Wind Inn usually offers deals and has a kitchenette, which is perfect for families because it saves some money by not dining out at restaurants. The hot time of year for this area is November until May – so if you want to get a better price- a good time to come vacation here would be June to October.
