Gencturk y calle 18 Sekbanlar, esa que queda justo al costado de la Municipalidad de Estambul, en el barrio de Sehzadebasi en Vezneciler en Beyazit, dentro de los antiguos muros bizantinos, en la península histórica de la ciudad de Estambul y desde entonces siempre fue su meta seguir con la misma sensibilidad, las huellas de su experiencia, que la tuvo con tantos años de trabajo en el área de servicio al turismo y hotelería. Ella también debe estar muy contenta por la acogida y el interés que le demuestran, parece que ha abierto sus brazos para dar la bienvenida a ambos continentes, ya que es visible por Europa a su izquierda y por Asia a su derecha, o parece saludar con la mano a ambos lados para hacer notar que ahí está en el medio de los dos continentes, mientras usted testifica el momento, no hay otro turista en este mundo más afortunado que usted. Y otra belleza más llena sus ojos desde ahí mismo, sin que se muevan a otro lugar, el collar del estrecho de Estambul o sea el puente de bósforo, además se ve justo desde donde estaban mirando y tomando fotos, desde el mismo Sarayburnu. Si voltean desde donde está, sus ojos cruzará con otro lugar digno de referirse, es el Palacio de Topkapi, reinando en el, en una época los sultanes otomanos gobernaban una porción de la geografía del mundo. Y desde aquí mismo, esta misma ciudad elegida como Capital Cultural de Europa para el año 2010, sentada sobre los continentes de Europa y Asia, llenará sus ojos y oídos con los barcos de línea interna que llevan pasajeros de uno frente al otro, en sus mares azulísimos y con los cantos de las gaviotas que van volando en sus cielos del mismo color, entregándoles una paz interior y felicidad. Pero no querrán salir de ahí. Si desean comer pescado en la cena, ahí están los famosos restaurantes de Kumkapi, están atrás suyo o váyanse a la región de pera de Taxim, por la calle Nevizade, en el pasaje histórico de Cicek (flor) y por supuesto el bósforo; el Bósforo de Estambul y los otros albergan a los locales más preciados de Estambul, en los cuales se come pescado fresco, con seguridad todos deben haberse trabajado preparándose todo el día, para ofrecerles a sus paladares los diferentes y exquisitos sabores. Con el pescado, ¡que va mejor como acompañante más que el Raki (el anisado) turco!. Luego de probar las exquisitas entradas y segundos de la cocina turca, piden un café turco, pídanlo depende de su gusto, muy dulce, con media azúcar o sin azúcar si quieren saborear el café puro, pero es mejor tomarlo con un pedacito de locum turco (dulce turco), no olviden de probarlo. En la noche si desean salir, entonces nuestro consejo es, salgan a caminar por la avenida Istiklal en Beyoglu. Mézclense con la multitud y vayan caminando por toda la avenida hasta la antigua Pera, e incluso caminen un poco más allá hasta llegar al Túnel, el segundo metro construido del mundo y vivan la nostalgia comprando dos fichas de ida y vuelta y suban a nuestro metro histórico, pues no hay otra manera de vivir la historia como hacen los jóvenes y viejos estambuleños. Luego de cruzar este metro histórico de 601 metros, si desean regresen, sino bajen en el otro lado ya están en Karakoy y de ahí no más unos pasos caminando, estarán cruzando el histórico puente de Galata, vivan a Estambul, paren en el medio del puente y pasean su mirada hasta cruzarse con la torre de Galata, construido por los Genoveses con su aspecto inconfundible. Bueno ella también les espera para que suban y vean a Estambul y sus alrededores desde ella. Al día siguiente, es muy probable que vayan a querer cenar en su restaurante si no quieren cenar en el pasaje de Cicek. La verdad no importa mucho lo que comentamos aquí, porque Estambul no se cuenta, se vive, se experimenta. Vivan a Estambul respírenla hasta sentirla en sus venas. Que bien que hoy han paseado paso a paso la historia, y ahora ya pueden regresar a su Hotel Washington, a botar el cansancio del día en su panadería o en su bar y luego tomen una ducha para refrescarse y descansen. Descansen porque mañana es otro día y todavía hay muchas cosas más para conocer por estos Lares.
