The miramar was such a dissapointment, dirty, over priced and with rude obnoxious staff.
We checked in with surly reception staff, went to our room exhausted, and then spent half the night having to complain about the state of the room, and the incredible amounts of noise coming from the wedding reception immediately below us.
The duty manager was rude, and unhelpful, he offered to clean our bathroom, however it was no cleaner afterwards, with mildew, mould, and grime on the shower and bath.
There was enamel chipped from the bath, and very basic toilet roll.
the noise from the party was overwhelming, with the cups on the amenity stand shaking (incedentally these were rinsed by the maid under the sink in our friends room rather than washed or cleaned. disgusting)
the fabric of the room was shabby, stained and torn, and the walls were battered.
we had no duvet, just a blanket under a dubiously clean bedspread.
For the price we paid we expected better quality, breakfast was poor, with very very cheap food, however the breakfast waiter was the only capable member of staff and was charming.
forget tranquil seaside breaks, this made faulty towers look like excellent quality
Looking out across the glittering clear waters of the Bay, stretching from the Needles on the Isle of Wight to the
east across to the giant chalk cliffs of Old Harry Rocks to the west and the Purbeck Hills of Hardy's Wessex beyond, Hotel Miramar occupies one of the most spectacular vantage points in Bournemouth. Sympathetic to its Edwardian origins, Hotel Miramar is the epitome of an English Country House with its rambling facade of Roman inspired pillars and curved balconies which overlook the terraces and sweeping lawns that appear to stretch down to the waters edge.
Inside the splendour continues - the clean lines and perfect angles of the fine architecture has lost nothing of its original character, retaining both the charm and grace of true Edwardian style. The tranquil atmosphere exudes a serenity and warmth that immediately transports one to an era far from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life and total relaxation is the only option.
