The hotel's location in the Intra-Muros makes it great for exploring the old town, a walk on the ramparts, the beach etc. There are perhaps 20 restaurants and a dozen bars within 250 yards of the hotel, all with plenty of character, but this doesn't mean it is too noisy - on the Saturday night we stayed the nearest bars were shut by midnight or so.
The hotel has perhaps 12 to 15 rooms over 5 floors and the smallest lift I have ever seen - my Dad suggested it could have been a Dumb-Waiter! It fits 2 people at a squeeze. The bar and a number of the rooms have all be redecorated in a modern style and the rest of the place is due to be updated, I understand. Whilst the rooms are not the biggest, they are clean and there was plenty of hot water. The young couple who run it took over from parents three years ago and are friendly, helpful and English speaking.Overall a great location for a short break or as a base for a longer stay.
